Writing Wk 8 Day 1

What would you write if you saw this?????

In a land where no kids could ever be as smart and annoying lived a brother and a sister. They would always play with planes. The sister would always do her homework but this was no ordinary homework it was suddenly a paper plane one. Little did they both know that they were going to discover a adventures scary ride.

LOOK OUT BELOW

"MUUUUUUUUUUUM, Darius won't let me have some space for my plane investigation" shouted Katelyn  "because your in the way of me playing sonic car racing season 4... I was going to come first" Darius was the oldest he was 13 and Katelyn was 11. She always wished that he at least just pay attention. For some reason when grandpa passed away we always started fighting. It was hard for them because Gramps would always come at the right time( Just in time not to get a grounding from our parents). We had breakfast at the table and it was very quiet "Thanks....... for uh breakfast mum and dad" "I wonder what happened to our daughter Katelyn" wondered Dad " I think it was when Dad Passed" mum said sadly. "Hurry up get to school Katelyn and Darius". The days went past and suddenly their mother shocked them with some exciting news. " Katelyn, Darius we are going to Las Angeles" they both looked at each other like they were going to explode. They rushed around the house for a few day's even though it was in a weeks time. " ok make sure you both behave over there ok" "yes mum".

A WEEKS TIME......

"rrrrrrrreeeeearrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sounds of planes flew past the airport. Jet star plane is waiting " c'mon kids lets go to gate 15 and get to that plane". crowds of people zoomed past like a gust of wind pushing against a kid. 'Whew' Katelyn thought to herself. We finally got on the plane. "sweeties lets go to the back where our seats are" exclaimed our mum. We got to the back but only two seats were there one for our dad and one for our mum. " ummmmm sweeties why don't you just sit on our laps" "Mum we are not three anymore and please don't embarrass us". Why don't we sit on the wing of the plane" Katelyn nervously said. " Don't mind if I do" sarcasmly said Darius "ok". We hopped on the wing. "ok off we go" I said. The plane took of.......

12 HOURS LATER

"let's not do that again" I said all tired and dirty "I agree" our eyes were wide opened and we looked paralyzed as well. " lets enjoy our summer at Las Angeles then" sang our mum........

Walking into the the cool dark night my feet hurting like a rock hitting my heel every time I take a step as I walk home...." UGGGGHHHHHHH" I moaned like a bear growling ready to pounce. " Mum I'm home" I shouted making a echo in the house no one answered I repeated her name again" Mum" no one said anything so I sighed and slumped myself onto the bed all I could hear was shouting and laughing. I peered through the curtains outside but nothing was there. "Great just Great now I have to go look for my mum and dad" I said to myself " WAIT" I had just remembered just before I went mum said we would need to go to a field something has happened. Tenseness grew through my mind 'what happens if my mum and dad got caught in a accident?'. 

I ran downstairs as fast as I could and out the door my heart was beating a thousand times then it ever beaten. This was not the night I wanted to have. I stopped in the streets suddenly to catch my breath. Suddenly my face began to light up and I am not meaning I got an Idea I mean like the sun shining on me. I saw lampposts with fire on them shining like a thousand stars lighting up the night sky. Many people were there and admiring the field some people gasp as though the've seen a huge giant wrecking buildings. I saw children laughing and playing with glow sticks (Even though they didn't need one because their were lots flames on the lampposts) I looked through the crowd to find my parents..... ( And then I find my Aunty Jane) I asked her " Do you know where my parents are"I sounded worried " they are just over there" she answered in a posh accent ( she had it since she was 13)  my feet started beating against the ground and find them in the middle of the field. Overwhelmed tears flooded my eyes I ran to them and gave them the biggest hug I could of asked for.

Pick a path drain game

we did a pick-a-path for the drain game and I had done one about it as well. I found this very educational because when we did the trip for the great drain games I had learned some stuff that I didn't learn like the wetlands about our birds from NZ go there and different types of fish. I enjoyed doing the great drain game and thanks to the parents because we wouldn't be doing that is their was no helper. A top tip to tell you when using plastic maybe you could make something creative out of it.

Paper planes

It is me Ariella-brooke here I have done a slide about Paper Planes and about this is we got to either go into partner's or do it by yourself and I did it with a partner on a slide. I found it stressful but fun because we only had a few sessions for the paper planes. I got to throw the planes while my buddy was timing it. Our question was ' What size of paper makes a plane stay in the Air the longest???'. It was quite shocking of the results on the paper planes. A top tip is that make sure the tip of your plane is straight and pointy so it can glide in the air if not it could go crooked.

Cultural Festival

On saturday I went to a cultural festival to perform there. The groups I was in was Kapa Haka and cook Island. I found Kapa Haka cool because we sang a lot and did actions to the songs that we sang. I also found Cook Island very interesting because that was the first time that I have ever joined cook Island and Kapa Haka. It was a very hot day and when the Cook Island group performed because it was in the afternoon. I had fun in the Cultural Festival because I got to show my dancing and singing which I love both of them. I had lots of things to eat because I didn't eat since my first performance and then after I did. Some people in my school were still there even at the end. I went home really exhausted.

2D shapes Table

I had done a Table about 2D shapes and I did it on a google docs making a table on it and I had to put numbers on. It asked my like the total of faces and number of corners etc. I found it fun because sometimes I didn't even know between a 2D and sometimes a 3D so I finally got to learn between those two. If you guys ever do this a top tip for you is that if you are stuck with the sides or don't understand vertices/vertex they are corners. My results came out that most of the shapes had something in common but the circle did not.

Talofa Bloggers What I had done was that I did a poster to help us save our ocean and also not get our sea animals sick. I found this easy because you would normally hear this every day either at school or some place else. This is one of my favourite activities for green Day and I encourage you guys to pick up Rubbish and put it in the right bin and pick up rubbish wherever you go.

Hey Bloggers this is my Genia.ly about plastic in the Ocean and what we can do to help our Ocean I found this challenging because their are a lot of things that sometimes we don't know about the Ocean and the sea creatures in it. I also learned that most of our Oceans are Polluted because of us and what you call that is the Dead zones.

The start of a new beginning

Looking beyond the shores I see the ocean Wait wait wait I am a turtle I have flippers Oh no and the worse this is I cannot not talk how am I supposed to express my feeling or ever go back to my daughter who is in London and I am in a tropical season. I started to freak out all the other turtles looked fine. I slowly cracked the shell open for the first time. The breeze brushed my face like a a tree gliding side to side smoothly. Running towards the Ocean I wonder if I would ever go back home...... Wait a second is that my daughter over there. " HEY!!!! LUNA OVER HERE" that is what I wanted to say but I couldn't. Suddenly a gust of wind blew me close to shore so I went in. " Haaaaaaa" the cool water splashed upon my face as I swam into the cool Ocean maybe living  in the Ocean wasn't so bad.......

Time travel writing 2 week 5

Leaving the note that I send my daughter and left on the fridge my head droops as I walk to do my job big ben chimes twelves eyes almost closing as I follow the rocky almost smooth ground I walk with what I call my big ben. I go to work dust zooms around and blows into my face." TICK TOCK TICK TOCK. The tower looms over as if it were ready to suck me into time. I breath in the air that smells like a run over car. " I can never un-smell that even if I'm at home" Looking towards my time traveler I say to my builders" Have you got the time right or have you not built it properly" one of the builders came up" Sir it seems that you can enter here but some of us went and came back but some never came back. Heart heavy I salute to the Builders and said goodbye I will never see my daughter again I thought in my mind "here have this key" I said to the builder that came up to me" Yes I will guard it with all my life" it look like he was about to cry. This key was actually a different key it was the key to everything; the key to moving through time and space. Goodbye I said to my fellow friends..... I woke up into a sea world in a egg.......

The Deep writing Day 1

Lurking beneath in the  cool dark ocean....... I wonder if I would ever get close to my favourite animal.... THE WHALE SHARK. If you are surprised you don't need to because they are sweet and kind and on that day that I was a swimmer swimming into the sea with my favourite animal. It was a dream come true while I was swimming with it it hollored a sound I just couldn't describe it. "aaaaaaaa" clasping for air I push my face lungs burning as I swim up into the air. I always remembered those dangers that lurk beneath or even losing your breath. I couldn't ever remember what happened because I think after that I became dizzy. I went back home soaking wet and my dad was gone.... note: I've gone to london to do a time travel. Oh No he is endangered I thought to myself............

The Great Drain Game

Hey Guys in the morning we went to what we call the great drain games ( that is a tongue twister ) I had a lot of fun while learning about drains and what happens to them if something happened Did you know that cigaret buts can make things bad and worse even if it is one little thing. Here is where dirty water goes Waste Water Treatment Plant and the clean water just goes out to sea e.g rain drops

Activity	Paragraph:
Caravan Tour	Hey Bloggers I am writing about the Caravan Tour this is about what should go where one of the ones I know is that if it is either coloured water with paint in it then it will go into water waste treatment plant where it will be filtered meaning it is going to be clean. I did a rubbish one it was the cigarette buts she asked where it went we all said in the rubbish and the other ones we liquid or rubbish types. There was also a diagram of the places where the liquids would go either the filtering or it would go into the sea. What I learned about this is that dirty water goes into a place called water waste water treatment plant and the rest I knew goes into the sea. ENJOY!!!!!!
VR/ WetLands	After the Model of where the liquids or rubbish goes we went to activity two it was learning about the wetlands and seeing life but in a virtual reality way. I started off with the wetlands and we learned about like most of the native birds will come here e.g kingfishers and pukeko’s and fishes that we had in New Zealand. There was a little example of the wetlands of what happens. Did you know that the sand in wetlands are rough at the top but soft at the bottom. Then I went to the VR session where it looks like you are in the moment. I learned that in the VR session that people let stuff go into the drain and then on the sand it is polluted.
Mapping Drains	This was our last Activity and it was tracking drains down we finally got into our buddies and I was with Gina but we all had to stay in our buddies but together, so we all had different answers in the drains even though we stayed together I found this easy but fun because we got to see drains that we walk past all the time and even though I was here for five years I had never seen some of those Drains. We got to work with a teacher aid Iunisi and without here we would have never gone to the great Drain Games. I had learned that Drains help us but we help them by picking up rubbish so the Drains don’t flush the Rubbish into the sea.

  

Week 1 writing The Forbidden Castle 😬😬

“Creeeaaaak” Walking in the cool dark night I shakily walk up the creaking steps. “ cacaw cacaw” lunging forward The crow glides across the sky like an elegant Swan noiseless. My body is shaking as I get close to what looks like haunting door I shook the doorknob we went in”already!’ Time was running out! I only had a matter of minutes. I searched through the area and through the gated rooms” when will I ever get out there is only 1 hour left” I sobbed feeling like giving up I saw this glowing thing shining like the sun peaking through a dark hole in this haunted castles whispers came upon saying “Lilia….. Lilia…... Lilia” I went to touch it Boom I was in this forest as the words came bigger………… “Tick Tock” !!!

Athletics😁👑

Hey Bloggers I am here to talk about Athletics day and I had competed in. The ground heated against my feet as I walked barefooted. Sweat ran down my forehead as I  sat in the beating heat. I watched people running hitting their feet on the ground as they run past each other going back and forth. We went to the activities first we started of on discus and I came third and my friend Lelani and Matilda came 1st and 2nd and I came 3rd. We walked over to long jump which I came 4th tied with matilda and I was happy even if I didn't make me into 1st 2nd and 3rd. and then shot put which I came 1st and then

we had high jump which I am not good at. At the end of the Athletics we had a team relay race and our class came third. The day was hot so we all were very tired, by the time we got back we waited for a little while and then the bell went so we all went home and probably slumped ourselves on the couches.

Tears run down my check like a waterfall never ending as

I look back on my family that is following behind.

Our  heads droop and the sound of birds chirping echo away and foggy mist covers the forest.

Feet sore, me and my family lie down onto the rough floor. “

Mum when will we find a new home” phire sobbed ” we will find it soon hopefully” Mum said sorrowfully

“ but for now we rest” dad said resting. We all look back looking at the foggy mist covering the ruined house.

Waking up to a sunny day and the sun is shining like a heater on us.

Having good rest we all get to our feet and start to walk onto where I thought we were going to be doomed.

We go through bushes like what we call a fantastic bush walk looking at what is in”

oooohhh mum look I found a rosella we go on this huge trip and find our destiny.

Parvana diary👑🐶

Dear diary, Today I helped father sell letters in the Market place I am really not supposed to be out here since the Taliban’s came and took over the land but my father needs my help with his leg to walk . The Taliban forbid girls and women to go to school or to teach at school. I had to leave sixth Grade and my sister Nooria is not allowed in high school and my mother got kicked out of her writing job in kabul. Now I have to be stuck in a room with my 5 year old sister maryam and two year old brother Ali. Women are not allowed to go outside without their husband or father. My father always told the Taliban’s that he needs me to help him walk because he was often tired. I would always try to look smaller because I've seen what the Taliban have done to women either for punishment or what they did to them. My friends had fled the country but I wasn’t so sure that they would be in pakistan or somewhere als that is why I would never write to them. We always moved to different places because the places we went were always bombed and now this is the only place that we are safe. Until next time diary

Rugby World cup 2019 survey

Hey Bloggers it is me Ariella-brooke

 I had done a graph/survey about which team is the favourite or who is going to win and I had interviewed Owairaka Members. How I had done it was I went and asked people and then I recorded it in a spreadsheet on a chart that is a graph. I found this challenging because you have to ask people who is going to win or who is your favourite team. I have a top tip don't just talk to a group get other people's ideas e.g don't just ask kauri or puriri or rimu. My prediction for this was that NZ will come first and tie with wales and england will come third and south africa will come last but I was right on NZ but wrong on the others here were the results:

1st NZ (85 points)

2nd tied South Africa & England (8 points)

3rd wales   (2 points)

Richie Patterson 👑🐶

Hey Bloggers, Today we got to see a person from the commonwealth games and the olympics his name was Richie Patterson  and he talked about his backstory his backstory was about fails in his life and about his weight lifting career. He talked also about the three values here they are:

1. Excellence

2.  Friendship

3. Respect

He is a light heavyweight lifter and fun fact:

 He makes mean nachos!

Richie Patterson started weightlifting when he was about 14 years old and and he started in 2005 which wasn't a great start but he didn't give up and then kept on persisting and in 2008 he was still nervous and in 2010 he won a golden medal sadly on his last weightlifting career he sadly came last but he always went back to the happy times.

Story 😁👑

                                             

Hey bloggers this is the story that I have done please Enjoy!!!

Running with the ball the crowd cheering as I run my heart is racing and I slow down I say in my brain as I get closer and closer to the scoring point 'am I going to make it' I hit the ground with the ball"RIING' the whistle rang and my team jumped on me. We all felt sweaty and after that I always ran as fast as I could. I ran but the other team kept on coming at me 'BOOM' someone tackled me I fell to the ground. I reached the ball out to my other team mates because this is my first rugby game. 

This is my second to last game for the black ferns before we are on break I had gotten used to playing the crowds go wild as the team comes out and I smile as the stands loom over us as we are walking out as i'm on fly back as we get ready for the scrum.

My team is really good as I am sitting on the benches and my heart races as I go up I say in my Head"playing against a good group might get us out in the semi finals. I gather all my strength and speed with all my might scoring.

This is my last game with the black ferns before we have a break and get back together and play we one by 30NL.

Book week 2019

This week was book week!! :D

This is the character I had dressed in from Harry potter I had dressed up as Hermione Granger. Hermione Granger is a smart girl because she reads and studies and also is mentioned in all of the books except one the cursed child .
I found book week nicely and really interesting because reading gives you more information and   now my favourite part was today book character day.
My favourite book is Harry Potter Goblet of fire because the book is always better than the movie and I also grew up with the book.

Dame Valerie Adams sick scentences

Hello Bloggers these are my sick sentences : I flew through the air. There were people watching me from the stands. I hit the ground

These are the sentences that I need to improve here are my new sentences:

Zooming through the air the shotput went further and further until it dropped BANG! It hit the floor making a dent in the ground. People Surrounding and watching me made me get a bit nervous as I pushed the shot put with all of my might making a win for it. Hitting the ground with a dent in it winning as the crowd cheered wildly. 

Show Don't Tell

Hello Bloggers Today I worked on show don't tell and show don't tell is when you tell them e.g kade was happy you would have to show this sentence without saying he is happy.

Tell: Kade was shocked

Show: Jaw dropped on his face making an mouth formed o and his heart beating a million miles a minute as he gasps. His eyes widened as his skin turns pale as white.

Tell: Ava was excited to see her dad

Show: Jumping up and down she talked very fast and high pitched and her heart can not stop beating. Her eyes sparkle and widened as she ran to her dad.

Tell: Zion-Li felt sad

Show: Her eyes drooped and her lip quivered as tears built up in her eyes slowly as the tears rolling down her cheek. She dropped her head while looking down at the floor.

Mt Everest climb👑😃😃😃

                                                 Mt Everest Climb

Looking up at the peak of Mt everest I feel scared and worried because it is a big mountain and all I hear in my head is what if like what if I fall down or what if i'm not the first person or kid to climb up to the mountain. As I climb with my trusted friends with the voice in my head this interrupted sound went in my ear and it was howling and scratching going near and near me as the sound get louder and louder and the voice echos away. I said to one of my friends"quick get to the nearest cave even if we are split up keep climbing to the top". We all rushed to  the nearest cave 1 friend came with me and 2 of my other friends were separate. Two days have past and we were all so tired and yea we all came back together. We traveled for another 10 days and were groaning and regretting that we shouldn't of climbed this giant. The maximum we ate was 1 hour a day we traveled for 8 days..... "YESSS guys we finally reached the top of the mountain" I said then we were going down but then this creature out of the blue suddenly came it was as white as the pale white snow and as delicate as a feather it was a pegasus. There were three but they were light pink , blue, yellow, purple. We rode them into the sunset and left the mountain and always saw the pegasus each time but here is the secret to us they will always be ours. We all gathered and told our grams and gramps and told them every winter because the horses came on winter. ENJOY!!!!!

Hello Bloggers this is my Native bird fact about a Tui and I found this really challenging and very fun because I found out new facts well typing them up. Movie at Civic theater 2019

Hello Bloggers it is me again Ariella-brooke. Today we went to the civic movie theater with other schools and other classes. We started at 10:08 and finished at 11:15. There were different types of movies but my favourite one that stood out to me was the sloth with the ice cream one it was pretty funny and I think the whole stadium laughed. The reason why I loved this one the best was because sloths are slow and also he took to slow to eat the ice cream because the ice cream kept on tipping on him. It was the biggest stadium in the city that I have seen because there could fit like five schools in it. The other choice that I had was the tadpole that was the only one who didn't get to a frog for a very long time. hopefully you guys one day get to see it again or see it for the first time I hope you guys enjoy.

Hello Bloggers this is my 'When I'm or I am' poem and it tells
what I am going to do in the future.

When I am Ten I will go to the famous disney land that people always talk about in NZ

When I am Eleven I will play with my cousins on there PS4 all day long completing missions

When I am Twelve My sister will be Eleven and I will be in Intermediate and she will be still in primary learning

When I’m Thirteen I will get my favourite pet in the whole wide world

When I’m Fourteen I will make a fuss of doing my mums and dads chores

When I am  Fifteen I will not want to go out and do the long shopping for my parents.

When I am Sixteen I will want to buy this ferrari that I longed for 6 years from when I was 6

When I am Seventeen I will buy a Fluffy dog that is a husky and we will be Best friends forever

When I am Eighteen I longed to go in the black ferns sweating while playing and practicing in the backyard

When I am Nineteen I will dramatically beg my parents to go to the ball with My friends or a boy

When I’m Twenty I will study hard to get good grades in University

When I am Twenty One I will get my own house with a cool pool

Hi bloggers this is my jupiter one enjoy!!!!

Stranded

1. 
1. Me and my friends were suddenly stranded on this little mysterious island that had this white sand that we’ve never seen before
2. Palm tree’s loomed over us as we sat down on the beach. 
3. The sand felt soft and fluffy under me as I sat on the windy stormy beach. 


The calm water tiptoed up the beach and sprayed me wildly like it was trying to pick me  to do something like telling me to sail across the sea or returning something…..that…...wasn’t mine.  I looked across the water and saw this other I am that look a little mysterious it looked like it was abandoned. I called out to my friends” hey look I think I see an island over there”. I wanted to know what this was what's the name of the only animal or was it all mythical. I started looking for a way to get a boat” there is only one thing to do,” I said to my friends”SWIM” we all went into our swimming clothes and swam as fast as we could. We suddenly arrived at this strange looking beach and island. I looked spooky  like a foggy place that hasn't been visited for ages.”ok guys stay close” I said frightened but brave at the same time. We all grabbed something from the ground because there… was… a.. ‘’RRROOOAAARRR’’ . Ok So we came through this fight with the beast” AAAAHHH” I suddenly saw It’s razor sharp teeth. Ok let’s skip all this………..We swam back to the beach. We calmed a little bit as we were puffed out. We wrote different stuff like positive things like HELP or FRIENDSHIP and BEACH. We also looked for treasure but  as we were going along the beach our feet burned because of the sharp rocks that were in the way. One of my friends heart fluttered as we were closer to shore and also to the very close to the clear ocean. My friend hasn't had anything since well you know. As we thought of Ideas my BFF came up with an idea” Why don’t we build a raft'' ``ok” said one of my other friends we all started building the raft then took of to go back home.
